The City of La Crosse is developing its first Climate Action Plan for the community. The plan will help those who live and work in La Crosse imagine and achieve a future where the earth and all who live on it thrive. This process will establish GHG emission reduction targets through 2030 that align with recommendations from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The planning effort, anticipated to be completed by the end of 2022, will result in a Climate Action Plan (CAP), which will be the City’s roadmap for achieving our GHG emission reduction and climate resilience goals.
The City has created this website to help keep the community informed of the progress of the Climate Action Plan. This website also helps support a wide range of ways residents and businesses can engage in the Climate Action Planning effort - such as the input survey and the La Crosse Climate Stories Project. You can track other opportunities to be involved here.
